Toileting is a very private personal activity that can have some unpleasant aspects. The caregiver must be sensitive to the individual's needs and provide supportive care to lessen embarrassment and discomfort that can occur. To teach new nursing assistants these important skills, this program demonstrates the techniques for toileting.Objectives:
Using this format, this program will demonstrate:
- assisting an individual when using the toilet
- offering a bedpan or urinal
- using a portable bedside commode
- changing incontinent briefs
- assisting with bowel and bladder training
